Border Hindustan Ka: A Patriotic Bollywood Movie
Border Hindustan Ka is a 2003 Hindi movie directed by Yogesh Bhardwaj and starring Aditya Pancholi, Priya Gill, Akshaye Khanna, Faisal Khan, Rajat Bedi and Mink Singh. The movie is based on the theme of India-Pakistan conflict and the love story of a Pakistani girl and an Indian soldier. The movie was released on 20 June 2003 and received mixed reviews from critics and audiences.
The movie begins with a flashback of the 1971 Indo-Pak war, where Major Kuldip Singh (Sunny Deol) leads a group of Indian soldiers to capture a strategic bridge from the Pakistani army. He sacrifices his life in the process and is awarded the Param Vir Chakra posthumously. His son Raj (Akshaye Khanna) grows up to become an army officer and is posted at the same bridge.
On the other side of the border, General Zorawar Khan (Aditya Pancholi) is a senior Pakistani army officer who dreams of annexing Kashmir to Pakistan. His daughter Nargis (Priya Gill) is a beautiful and patriotic girl who loves her country. She also has a soft corner for Raj, whom she met during a cricket match between India and Pakistan. She secretly sends him letters and gifts, but Raj is unaware of her identity.
One day, Nargis decides to cross the border and meet Raj in person. She disguises herself as a Sikh girl and enters India with the help of a smuggler. She meets Raj at a temple and confesses her love for him. Raj is shocked to learn that she is a Pakistani and rejects her. He tells her to go back to her country and forget him. Nargis is heartbroken and returns to Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Zorawar Khan hatches a plan to attack India with the help of some rogue elements in his army. He also arranges Nargis's marriage with his loyal officer Major Raja (Rajat Bedi). Nargis refuses to marry Raja and runs away from home. She again crosses the border and reaches Raj's camp. She tells him that she loves him more than her country and begs him to accept her. Raj is moved by her sincerity and agrees to marry her.
However, their happiness is short-lived as Zorawar Khan launches a surprise attack on India. He targets the bridge where Raj is stationed and orders Raja to capture it at any cost. Raj and his men put up a brave fight against the invaders, but are outnumbered and outgunned. Nargis also joins them in the battle and kills Raja in self-defense. Zorawar Khan arrives at the scene and shoots Nargis in anger. He then confronts Raj and challenges him to a hand-to-hand combat.
Raj accepts the challenge and fights Zorawar Khan with all his might. He manages to overpower him and stabs him with his own sword. He then rushes to Nargis, who is lying in a pool of blood. He holds her in his arms and professes his love for her. Nargis smiles and dies in his embrace. Raj also succumbs to his injuries and dies with her. The movie ends with a voice-over of Major Kuldip Singh saying that the border between India and Pakistan is not a line of hatred, but a line of love.
